“Brutal” is too cliché to describe
Sworn Enemy’s “The Beginning of the End” (Abacus Records).
These guys are not wasting any time in making statements, so if a one
word description is what you’re looking for how about “excruciating”.
The band shows no mercy or patience for the weak, lost or confused listener.
From the first track “Forgotten,” this release will impair
your ability to walk and think straight. Throughout it’s filled
with solid riffs and crushing double bass beats, which the band delivers
on each of the 11 enclosed tracks. My personal favorites are “The
Beginning of the End,” “Save Your Breath”, and “No
Second Chances.” The death squad known as Sworn Enemy reigns from
Queens, New York; and has one goal with this sophomore release: to demand
the respect of true fans of heavy, brutal music! |
