| Raw, loud, smart and in your face
are the key words to describe My Ruin’s “The Brutal Language.”
Filled with intense emotions; the execution is delivered with enough power
to shred your inherit beliefs. “Nature Boy” kicks off the
cd with an eerie feeling as Tairrie tells a brief story. This is the perfect
set up for “Silverlake.” Led by Mick and his signature heavy
riffs, the song is kicked in full gear once Tairrie walks into the mix.
“I’m a liar and you’re a saint,” the best hook
line for any manic chorus. The hell ride coaster continues with, “Spilling
Open;” A southern rock style gem that is complete with a killer
guitar solo. Just when you thought this was all work and no play, comes
the sarcastic tribute “Vince Vaughn.” Glorifying the out of
control attitude he is known for. It’s obvious that the songs are
not just about anger, religion, or relationships, but also about the heroes
they admire. In closing is the contagious “Touch me I’m sick.”
At this point you come to realized that this band has no fear of exposing
their disease. “The Brutal Language,” is honest and sincere.
There’s really no room for over producing in this release. What
you see is what you get. Surrounded by all these new genre bands, My Ruin
delivers an instant classic. |
